These are the two blocks that make up the quilt after the string units are complete. I wanted to see how difficult they are to put together, since I’m pressing all seams open to reduce bulk. They’re a little fiddly, but fairly straightforward.
I have all my units for the star block centers. Now I’m working on making the diagonal string units. I figure it will take a while to complete those, and then put them together, but I’m still enjoying working on this one.
Bonnie used a turquoise for the sashing strips, and I haven’t decided if I’ll do the same or if I’ll do something a little different. I have lots of time to decide, I think.
