Or at least that’s how it seems with the knitting. Now that Dad’s socks are finished, I gave myself permission to start a new shawl and a new sweater. I’ve had the shawl yarn since 2016 (I bought it as a “kit” from the Unplanned Peacock Studio dyers at a local yarn festival that they used to have in a nearby town) for the shawl pattern On the Spice Market by Melanie Berg.
I’ve finished the first section where the colors are built, and I’ve just started the second section where the colors become a secondary pattern to the “main” color. I realized that I’m using the wrong needles for this section because the stitch really needs a sharper needle point than the Addi set I was using, so I’ll be switching over to my Chiaogoo needles on the next row.
Then I started (and I mean just started) the Rhapsody in Cables sweater by Joji Locatelli (I know, I know, I haven’t finished my Affiknity sweater yet). I just couldn’t resist the allure of this design and the color of yarn that I picked (Malabrigo Rios in the color Ivy). That gray yarn at the bottom is a provisional (temporary) cast on from which other stitches will be knit later, so it’s not part of the sweater.
