I picked up the Broken Star Log Cabin quilt from my quilter last week. The quilting is a perfect match. I pulled out the fabric I planned to use for binding over the weekend and got to work putting the finishing touch on it.

I think the binding fabric color and pattern are also a great match for this quilt. I had purchased a half-yard of a 108 inch wide print that looks like a bunch of different handkerchief patterns.

Many bias strips later, I finally had enough pieced to go around the quilt. I like to do a double-fold binding. And because I wanted to finish this by machine, sewing it to the front as the last step, I first sewed it to the back, and then pressed it open.

All that’s left is to flip it over and stitch the binding down to the front. I’m hoping I can finish that over the weekend.
Oh, so lovely. Like the binding fabric…fun pattern.
