Tea at Downton socks

That was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to finish my socks after a bit of start and stop and forward and back (even at the toes). The darker yarns tend to trip me up a bit, since they’re a bit harder to see the stitches, even with great vision.

The yarn I used is a bit thicker – a heavyweight fingering to sport weight, I’d say. It’s a Peruvian highland wool/nylon blend that is no longer available for purchase. There are approximately 178 yards per 50 grams, (or 356 yards per 100 grams). For comparison, there are approximately 463 yards per 100 grams in the yarn used for the socks that I knit for CC. That to me is a light fingering.

Here are the two other pairs of socks I’ve knit using this same yarn base, but that I hand-dyed.

Evergreen Socks, 2018 (pattern by Madeline Gannon)
Blizzard Socks, 2019 (yet another Bakery Bears pattern!)

I’ve washed this pair and put them away for the cooler season. I’ll have quite a few new pairs to wear then!
