I’ve had three sets of shades of green homespun plaid strips cut and waiting to be made into new blocks, so I got the first of the three done this weekend.
It might be a little hard to tell, but the olive plaid has a stripe of navy running through it, which made me want to pull a blue print into this block.
That navy blue floral is fussy cut from the cotton sateen backing fabric of one of my more recent quilts (Frolic, I think).
I wouldn’t want to work with a whole bunch of cotton sateen in a large quilt top – it’s much too floppy – but I loved these flowers and had quite a bit left over, so I have been using it here and there.
