Or half of section 9, that is. This section is some very subtle stripes for me, based on my colors that were used. They seem to form little wings on either side. I’ve only completed one so far, so here that is.
It looks like a single color from a distance, but those purl ridges are made up of the walnut and cinnamon yarns. Here’s a little closer look.
There is just a slight difference in the two colors as the light hits them – the walnut appears slightly brighter on the bottom/left in each of those ridges. I’ve seen other knitters’ stripes, and they are much higher contrast, and I’m quite pleased with how this looks in my shawl.
It took me about 3 evenings to finish knitting this side, so I expect about the same amount of time to get to where I can start Clue 3.
