I saw a quilt that someone posted on social media in late 2019 that I thought was really pretty. I mocked up the block from that quilt in EQ7 at the time, but didn’t see any mention of the designer or quilt name, so it’s just been an unknown scrappy block that I’ve had printed out for some time.
Well, I got a bee in my bonnet to make a block yesterday, so I did.
I think that if I make a quilt from this block, I’d like to use the homespun plaid fabrics from my stash in the half-square triangles. I really like how they look with the rest of the fabrics. The block seems like a mashup of sunshine and shadow plus with bear’s paw or maple leaf corners.
Sometimes you just have to get it out of your system, and then you can decide later if you want to pursue it further.
