My weekly apron sewing with my friend was cancelled this week, so I spent some time working on the Deconstructed Disappearing Pinwheel quilt top I’ve been piecing for a Quilts of Valor quilt. I finished it! I didn’t add any borders, and it is approximately 63″ x 74″.

I found a really nice off-white fabric with red, gray, and blue stars at JoAnn’s and thought it was perfect for the backing. I bought a navy blue fabric with large white and silver stars for binding. Quilting will be done by one of our quilt club members who has a longarm machine, and who has donated her time for that.
The Missouri Star Quilt tutorial was easy to follow. I cut all of my blocks slightly smaller than the tutorial instructed, simply because I cut some smaller by accident.
The edges of all pieces are on the bias. I don’t personally care for constructing a quilt with bias pieces (unless there is a really good reason like curves), so I doubt I’ll be making more with methods like this.
