I had Friday off as another vacation day, and spent virtually all day plus some of Saturday and Sunday afternoons working on completing what seemed to be a really straightforward and small clue. Ha! I mean it was pretty much that, but most of it was the preparation for sewing: selecting the fabrics, pressing them, cutting the strips, then sub-cutting those strips into units.
I arranged them on top of one of my newest tools, a large square clapper. It helps the blocks to maintain the flatness after pressing while the fabric cools, thus “locking in” that shape. I love it! I also bought a regular shaped clapper, and I think I’d like to have one more of those for those chains of piecing units. I got mine on Amazon but they have them other places online as well. I was recently reminded of them on the Fat Quarter Shop’s video channel, though I learned about them some time ago on a video far, far away.
Lovely!
