Momentum

With the momentum of two baby quilts fully finished, I pulled out another quilt top that I don’t remember ever even taking a photo of when I was working on it or when it was finished.

A friend asked me to help her teach a quilt class to some ladies at church in late 2024. I went ahead and pulled out some fabrics to make the quilt she was making so it could serve as another example along with the ones she had that were already made.

The quilt was not very large, even for a baby quilt, at just 25″ by 35″, so I decided to add a little border to it, and I went with a dark melon color, almost orange, but not quite, as a coordinate to the multicolor print. I had pulled all of the other colors from that print as well.

I also chose an mottled orange fabric for backing, and had just enough of it to fit with a tiny bit left over on each side. Since the quilting was minimal and I wasn’t asking a longarm quilter to quilt it, I felt I could probably get away with it. It now measures about 33.5″ by 43.5″. I plan to do the diagonal cross hatching quilting again on this quilt.
