Found another project

I was working through my project box for Crumble Weave, and down underneath all of the strings and scraps for that project was another project I forgot I had started.

I didn’t have a specific quilt design in mind when I started piecing together a bunch of crumbs and strings. I just wanted to sew fabric. So I dug these out the other day and sorted the scraps a bit more. Then I looked through my Bonnie Hunter books and found her Xing quilt. It looked like just the thing these scraps needed to become.

So I’ve been sewing some more fabric, getting the units to the size needed (maybe a little larger, because I just realized they’re an odd size being on-point in the block), and working out of the mounds of scraps that I’ve been given by quilting friends.

Maybe a little crazy too, based on my history, but I’m pressing the seams open to reduce bulk. It does help them lie flatter. I’m curious to watch this one grow.
