Trying to play catch-up, since she has already released months 2-4.
Above is block 4, and here are 5 and 6.
I bought two yards of the large green focal print of the Lady Tulip collection, so I plan to use that wherever Edyta has used it in the quilt she designed. So far, it has been used in blocks 2, 3, and 5.
Block 6 was a challenge because I wanted to minimize waste of that yellow-green fabric (I only got a fat quarter of it). Making it with corner squares that are sewn and then cut on the diagonal would have given me a lot of half square triangles for my Grandpa’s Star quilt blocks, but I wanted to be able to use as much of this fabric in this quilt as possible.
It took longer, but I used Bonnie Hunter’s Essential Triangle tool along with the Mini Simple Folded Corners ruler, and the 45 degree line on my rotary cutting ruler, and was able to ‘hack’ my way through this block with minimal waste. I didn’t take notes, so I can’t really describe it here, but I’m happy with the results. Would I want to make an entire quilt that way? Nope. But for three copies of this block it was a fun challenge.
