Starting another gift

I have a friend who looks great in this shade of blue. She walks a lot, even in the cold temperatures, and I thought she might like to have something to throw around her neck. I’ve called it a shawl, but it’s more like a shawlette (and I believe the name of the design is actually a kerchief). So I cast on and have begun knitting. I have no deadline, so I’m not rushing, just enjoying the knit when I have a few minutes here or there. It is almost a mindless knit, and easy on the hands as I’m watching television or listening to a book. And that blue is just vibrant!
