Spiky Stars quilt top

It took quite a while from the time I started putting this quilt top together until I finished piecing it. The photo is a little blown out, but it’s really pretty in person with all of the scrappy fabrics.

I started on a sew day with a friend and got it about 1/3 pieced together. Then I pulled it out at home and continued, but realized that some of my block sets weren’t pieced facing the correct direction to match up with what I’d already pieced.

I didn’t have to rip anything apart, but I did have to pay attention to what blocks were being added where, and that was when I realized I just didn’t have the brain space for dealing with it. Knitting took over for a while (and is still at the forefront of my crafting lately), but I eventually finished it! It measures about 48 by 60 inches, which is perfect for a ladies’ charity quilt. I just need to put it in the stack, make a backing, and get to work. That will be a task for another day.
