I really like the Simple Sample Hat by La boutique de Jeanne. It changes stitches every so often, and it’s very simple to knit. I used the Baby Bee Sweet Delight yarn in the Baby’s Blue color again, which is a fingering/sport weight, and knit about an inch of ribbing before starting the patterning.
The pattern comes in one size, and calls for “super bulky” weight yarn. But by using the fingering/sport weight I didn’t have to modify the stitch count to get it to fit a newborn/baby. I think it looks super cute, and I’d definitely knit it again.
