Sashing sets

I’ve finally finished piecing each of my blocks for the Old Town quilt, and now I’ve decided that, yes, I will be making controlled scrappy (i.e., sets) of sashing pieces.

Of course, because I’m doing them this way, I’ll have to decide where they’ll go before I piece them together. I’ve almost completed sewing their little triangle units on one side, so I’m one step closer to sewing it all together.

This isn’t the final layout, but it just gave me a better idea of how things would look with “sets” instead of completely scrappy sashing. My pile of finished blocks is in the lower right corner of the photo. I can’t wait to get this quilt together!
