I’ve been working mostly on the string pieced sections of the Sand Castles quilt, but I decided I just had to see how they are going to look as finished blocks, so I put together two of them.
I went with a white-on-white print for the sashing strips because I wanted it to have a good contrast. I’ve seen some quilts that didn’t have very good contrast, and they just didn’t give that design punch that it needed.
I’ve just finished piecing all of the string squares, so now I need to cut them apart and sew the sashing strips to the rest of them. I also need to make a lot more little four-patches.
Meanwhile, I decided to make up another Sunshine and Shadow Starburst block – I’ll share a pic of that after it’s finished.
P.S. Here’s a quick pic of my little Luke. He loves to get up in the evening on the recliner with me and plop down on my legs as close as he can possibly get. And I just adore it/him.
