I just realized that I gave my brother his quilt last weekend, but I hadn’t shared the completely finished quilt here.
I used a feather stitch to stitch down the binding.

And the backing was chosen just for him, with all kinds of elements of farm life in a great grayish-brown “guy” color.

He’s over the moon about it. I’m so glad he loves it!
Very nice Melissa! As usual.
Thanks Teresa!
What a beautiful quilt! I’ve enjoyed watching your progress on it. I love the binding stitch! I need to try that one. Miss seeing you in person!
Thanks Pam! I miss seeing you in person too!
What pattern did you use? Where can I buy the pattern?
I used Laundry Basket Quilt’s Broken Star Log Cabin quilt pattern and just made it a little larger by adding another 2 rounds of log cabin blocks rather than the smaller border that she uses. You can find the Broken Star Log Cabin pattern at the Laundry Basket Quilts website. I love how she explains how it all goes together in the blog post. Oh, but I think I made my strips just a tad bigger than hers.
