As usual, I couldn’t wait to start my pretty little pots quilt. Actually, I held off for a couple of days – showing a tiny bit of willpower, ha!
I decided not to go super bright for the first pot. I also used the pot fabric in the center of the last Aunt Joe’s Afghan block. Once I chose the fabric, then I looked in my scrap bag and found the wools I wanted to use for the flowers.
I had such fun making this. Even making and stitching down the pot wasn’t so bad – I pressed it into shape with batting inside it before hand sewing it down with my new 80wt Aurifil cotton thread. That pressing ahead of time made it much easier to keep the pot’s shape.
Edited to add, this is named Penny’s Pot in the pattern.
