This month’s blocks have been posted on Edyta’s blog and YouTube channel, and I had actually seen a couple of photos in the Laundry Basket Quilts of the completed blocks for this month. It seems like just a few days have passed since the previous month – that’s just how fast time seems to be moving this summer.
I used all of the recommended fabrics for block 16, above. I love those particular orange and green prints together.
I used a few different fabrics in block 17, because I wanted to make sure I have enough of them for later blocks or steps in the quilt. The darkest in the lower right quadrant is part of the Lady Tulip collection, but is not part of the original fabrics in this quilt. The background prints of the lower left and upper right are from other Edyta collections. Each of blocks 16 and 17 use quarter-square triangles, so I tried to take extra care when piecing them, so as not to stretch out those bias seams. I like that she chose all pinks and reds for this block.
Block 18 is a great simple block – a courthouse steps variation. The green print that was used in block 16, along with a yellow coloration of the same print.
