Started my new Beck

I was rummaging through my yarn closet the other day, looking for a color that would closely match a friend’s sweater that has a hole that I’m going to repair.

I was pulling out bags that I know contain leftovers, yarn scraps, and mini-skeins, when I also saw my bag with the yarn I wound up a while ago for my new (second) Beck sweater. Having just finished knitting my Navette poncho (but not having finished weaving in ends or washing/blocking it yet), I had been thinking about what my next project should be. Ask and you shall receive.

So I pulled out the pattern that I had annotated for my first Beck sweater and set to work. I’ve completed a few of the increase rounds already, and I’ll probably have to move to a longer cord for the next set (right before I split for the sleeves and drop back down to the current cord length). CC looked at my project the other night and said, “Definitely your colors.” Of course, he says that for most everything I knit or quilt, ha!

I’m thinking this should be an easy project to pick up and put down even when I don’t have much time to devote to doing something – there is no pattern stitch to memorize, only some easy increases and decreases here and there for a bit of shaping.
