Yeah, I totally either overestimated how much I could get done before my week off to sew with friends, or I underestimated how long it would take to get the basic units sewn.
I originally thought (a couple of months ago) that I would have all of the units ready to put together into blocks and sashing by the end of August. Boy, was I wrong. So, I started sewing. And continued sewing. And on September 2, I finally finished piecing all of the units for the sashing.
Then I pressed them.
Once I finished those, it was time to put the half square triangles together into units.
First into twosies. And then into foursies.
And on September 4, I finally got all the little four-patches done. Whew!
I managed to make a few more sashing strips (I had one done previously), and one more complete block. And I was worn out. I will get back to it, but definitely not this week. It’s going to be really pretty when it’s done, but for now, I’m going to do some knitting. And maybe take a nap or two.
