Just look at those pretty bobbles. So far, my opinion is that I made the right choice to rip out and start again with the new yarn (Quince & Co. Finch, which also happens to be grown and made in the USA, so extra points for it). I’m almost to the first set of colorwork stitches, so we’ll see how that goes soon.
I’m enjoying knitting this project, in the method I usually knit. And that’s making me think about ripping back on my Affiknity sweater in progress and starting it from the ribbing up again. I was originally trying a different method of purling (lazy purl), which produces much tighter stitches. The more I think about it, the more I think about how much more work that is – significantly more thinking about each stitch as I go (and I’m already thinking quite a bit about the cable stitches), and rougher on my wrists and hands. And the more I look at it, the more I am not super happy with the way the stitches look – they are extremely uneven looking. Perhaps that is the yarn, but I think it might be just my stitches. Anyway, I’ll continue to think on that and address it in the future.
