My April projects

The numbers for April were announced on March 27, and they are 3 and 21.

Cross Stitch and Needlework

April’s numbers landed on the same project, so I should get some nice progress in on Plum Pudding by Glendon Place. I haven’t worked on it since June 2018. I’ve finished the center and just started on the next round of the design.

Knitting and Crochet

Since I didn’t get around to working on the Affiknity sweater until late in March, I’ll get another shot at it in April. I should be able to pick it up much easier since I just worked on it, and the lazy purling is in my brain at the moment. The other project was the Harris Tweed socks, which I’ve already finished, so I can also work on anything else if I feel like it.

Quilting

I’m looking forward to doing some more Scrappy Cats. It’s a quilt pattern designed by Carolyn Hughey that was in the June 2014 issue of The Quilt Life. I’ve only completed one block so far, but I’m using Tula Pink fabrics, and I love the stylized design. The pattern calls for 12 cats, but I might make 18 or more to make the quilt a little larger.

The other project is Dream a Little Dream by Lizzie B Cre8ive. I’ve struggled working up my enthusiasm for this one. It has some wool felt appliqué, which I love doing, and it’s just a little wall hanging, so it shouldn’t take forever to make. One panel (of three) is already finished. The part that has been my stumbling block is the other appliqué. They recommend you use the freezer paper method, which I’ve learned that I don’t really enjoy doing. I did it for the first panel, and after that, I just dreaded doing the lettering and entwined hearts of the second panel that way. I now plan on changing the way I do these to fusible appliqué.
