Alas, I spent all of my handwork time on a plethora of other projects in March, so I didn’t get around to working on any of the applique blocks this time. But here are two new pieced blocks, Ocean Waves (left) and Kansas Troubles (right).
I did not make the Kansas Troubles block using the method described in the book. It felt a little contrived for me (bias strips pieced and then cut back into half square triangles that are not bias edges), and I just converted what they needed to be into the measurements I needed for half square triangles using the +7/8″ method. They’re pretty small, but not hard to do. There are 3 or 4 more blocks that I’ll need to convert as well, but that shouldn’t be a problem.
