Sidekick boot socks

This is my second pair of this pattern (free on Knitty.com), because I really liked the first pair, and use them a lot with what I call my taupe “army boots.” I decided I wanted a blue pair as well, so I started knitting these using the same color as the model in the pattern.

When I got to the second sock, I forgot to change needle sizes for the leg (they are knit toe-up), and had to frog out about half a leg after I realized that I was getting a lot smaller leg than the first. I lost a little steam, and it seemed to take forever to finish them.

I also forgot to check to see how I bound off the first sock, so I bound off the second sock in a completely different method. Fortunately, I think that I’ll be the only person to know that when I’m wearing them around – you can’t tell from a distance.

Here are a couple of views of the first pair that I knit.
