Flax with one arm

I don’t remember when I started this sweater, but I think it was some time in 2019. I had knit a baby hat in the same yarn (Lion Brand Heartland), and really liked the feel of it, so soft, so I decided to try to make a sweater. The pattern is Flax, part of a free learn-to-knit program by Tin Can Knits.

I’m curious to see how the yarn will hold up, since it is 100% acrylic. Will it pill? How washable will it be? I do plan to take care not to put it in the dryer (to reduce pilling, if possible), and to use a sweater bag if I put it in the washer. I tried it on, and it really is super soft. And it hasn’t been hard to work with, given the fiber content. I’ve had good and bad experiences with knitting acrylic yarns. There are many different qualities, for certain, and this seems to be one of the better ones, at least as far as the knitting itself goes.

Last night I picked up the stitches for the right arm, so it looks like it shouldn’t be too long for me to have another new (slightly heavier-weight) sweater fairly soon.
