A new quilt for CC

While I was searching around for something completely different, I ran across some pretty flannel plaid fabrics online, and thought I’d go ahead and get some fat quarters to make CC another blankie. Flannel plaids are his favorite, possibly because they’re the first kind of quilt I made for him.

While I was at lunch a couple of weeks ago with my girlfriend Sallie, she showed me a quilt pattern she had picked up on retreat. I thought it was perfect to showcase the flannel plaids, so these things just all came together at once. The blocks are pretty big, and I plan to put sashing between them (just like in the pattern she had), so this quilt top should be quick to piece together. I’ve got 4 of 12 made so far, and 6 with the units pieced along with 2 final sets of strips ready to and cut into units.

CC’s first flannel plaid quilt, finished in 1998.
CC’s second flannel quilt – top pieced, before quilting
This is his second flannel quilt, finished and folded up on a chair
CC’s third plaid quilt, which used homespun plaids instead of flannels
