(Also known as yes, I gave in. I held out as long as I could before starting a new project…)
I resisted as long as I could. When my second color of yarn came in the mail, I resisted for about a day. Maybe two. And then I could resist no more. I had to start my new fingering-weight sweater, Felicitas.
Every sweater I’ve made so far has had a different construction from the previous ones, and this one is no different. It’s a top-down construction, and eventually knit in the round (at least I think – I haven’t gotten that far yet), but it doesn’t start out that way.
I don’t mind, in fact I learn a lot by choosing such different patterns to knit. However, unlike sock knitting, I’m unable to build up any sort of “muscle memory” for sweater construction this way. Pros and cons. Can’t wait to get the pieces put together so I can see this develop.
Love those colors!
