This block is kind of the opposite coloration of the last block. The pine cones in the center are a favorite “winter” fabric of mine. Then there is the “wood-board” like fabric in the middle, followed by some green grass around the outside of the block.

I love this block. I had not used any really busy prints in other blocks until now, and I’ll definitely use more of these. I was afraid that it would be a bit too frenetic, but just the small slice of them is perfect, I think.

After finishing the jacket, I decided to make my fourth little afghan quilt square. I happened to be moving around some piles of scraps, and started with the gold print first. This block looks like a flower to me. True, the center of an actual flower probably isn’t green, but the coral and lighter green behind it just make me think of a pretty summer garden.
