First 2026 quilt top

It took me a little while to finish sewing the blocks together for Sawtooth Scrappy, and once I did, it didn’t seem quite “finished” to me. I didn’t want to make it much larger (it was originally 48″ by 56″ with just the blocks), but I still thought it needed some sort of border.

I decided on a scrappy rectangles border, and I really think it sets this quilt off perfectly. The blocks finished at 8 inches each, so I chose to use 2½” by 4½” rectangles and pieced them end to end. That makes the quilt top 52″ by 60″, and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Edited to add: I made a scrappy backing for this quilt, so I thought I’d share it here. Essentially 12 fat quarters that I wasn’t totally in love with, so I’ve put them to good use!
