Lots of tiny scraps sewn together

Last weekend I really buckled down and worked on my Scrap Crystals quilt after our apron sewing was done. I just kept sewing those 4-patches to each other and ended up with a nice little stack of them.

Stack of 4-patches 4-patched

Then I separated those into 4 stacks and started piecing those together. I’ve made a few of the final blocks now, but still have over half of them to put together.

Those 4-patched 4-patches, 4-patched. 😉

Next up is piecing the sashing squares and strips. I picked out some green and blue fabrics to use on Monday, and have some work ahead of me to get everything ready. But it’s starting to come together!

  1. Hi! I am so glad to see you back!!! I noticed that you are sewing on a Bernina. Do you still have the Pfaff Creative? In your opinion, which do you prefer? Thank you for sharing your opinion! Thank you for also sharing your ralvery experience; I also left, and now I do not feel so alone!

    1. Hi Jen!

Yes, I have both, and use them for different types of sewing. I like my Pfaff for piecing quilts. The IDT makes the pieces feed together evenly, meaning I have less shifting and stretching. I like my Bernina for sewing clothing and home dec stuff, in addition to some free motion quilting. I also have my older Elna Carina, which is awesome for foundation paper piecing.

Thanks for reading and sharing your feedback! It’s good to be back.
