Neptune in orange

Recently, the Wrap Them in Hugs quilting ministry began working through some of their half-yard stash, creating from it approximately 7 “kits” of color-themed 2½-inch strips (like a jelly roll) to use for charity quilt tops.

They started with blue, and I made the Tiffany quilt top from that set.

But then, using the colors announced for May in the RSC 2025 (Rainbow Scrap Challenge), they pulled green, and I made a version of Pennies from Heaven.

June’s color was orange, and this is the quilt top I made. I used a half-sized kit for the horizontal strips and added some of my own stash for the vertical strips. I had lots of orange left over from jelly rolls I’d purchased and used in my Over the Rainbow hexie quilt, plus some strips left over from various Bonnie Hunter mystery quilts.

The pattern is Neptune from Villa Rosa Designs. It worked up very quickly. I started it on Monday and finished it on Wednesday.
