The last square was added in last week, and then I discovered that one of the corner squares (thank goodness) was shredding. I have no idea if it was the yarn, my cats, or something else – but there was no evidence of bugs/moths, and the squares around it were all intact with good integrity.

So I set it aside for a few days, and then I replaced the block with another blue (pictured above). I researched some borders online and decided to go with a scalloped border. Started it, and realized that it wouldn’t work with the stitch count that I had. So I added an inner border like another round of the granny square to get me to the correct count.

Then I added the scalloped border and connected the scallops between the squares with little picots.
Last night I finally finished the border and wove in the remaining edges. Ta-da, it is done! 300 little squares made of sock scraps, mini-skeins, and leftovers from shawls, sweaters, etc. 10 years in the making (started in 2015).
