I’ve been lugging around my Alpine Seasons Mandala cross stitch project out in the open (not in a project bag, which is dangerous, because cats), with the floss, beads, scissors, and other paraphernalia on top of the fabric. All of my existing cross stitch project bags are currently in use for other projects. So I had the urge to make a custom bag for it, and that’s just what I did.
I got some new fabric just for this at my local fabric shop last week, and I spent just a little time re-familiarizing myself with the pattern. I made the large bag this time instead of the jumbo bag. I probably should have done the jumbo one, but I think this will work. It is 13½” square (the jumbo is 16½”). The front has a zipper closure, see-through vinyl panel, and fabric panel at the bottom.
The lining and backing are quilted in a crosshatch pattern that didn’t take very long to do.
And finally my project can be put away instead of taking up table space. I’ll definitely be making some more of these in the future!
