My Thursday quilting group made up kits of green 2.5-inch strips, similar to the blues, and I thought about doing Tiffany again, but the Pennies from Heaven quilt design came to mind. I altered it slightly, because it was originally a 5 blocks square design. I figured up that if I knocked off one column of blocks (and used the same size strips for sashing as the blocks), I’d have the size needed for a woman’s charity quilt.
I was originally going to use a different cream print for the sashing, but realized after a cutting mistake that I had a better sashing print after all. I love the dragonflies/ginkgo leaves – the same I used to make my sleeveless top (last year?), and I think it’s actually perfect for this quilt.

For reference, the following photo is the original Pennies from Heaven quilt that I made in 2018 using a colorful and graphic jelly roll. The sashings in this quilt are a little larger than the block strips, but I think both sizes work well with the design.
