That Vanilla sweater

The one that I’ve had on my “Knitting projects in progress” page for what seems like a year (but is probably more like 6 months). I pulled it back out and picked back up where I left off.

I’ve finished but haven’t yet washed and blocked the Rhapsody in Cables sweater. I still need to do that so I can actually wear it and take photos so I can share those with you.

But back to the Vanilla sweater – I had about 7 or 8 more increase rounds before I could split for the sleeves, so I started there. And it was fairly rhythmic knitting. Just what I wanted while I was recovering from the latest sinus infection round (plus some post-surgery downtime).

Once I split for the sleeves, the rest of the body is knit straight, so this is now a super-portable project, one which requires no concentration. I will probably take it with me to one of my sewing groups if I can make it this week.

The 100% wool yarn is fingering weight, and it is super light. It’s a Norwegian wool, and it’s like no other fingering weight yarn I’ve used. I’m curious to see how it blooms and softens after washing.

I actually bought enough for two sweaters, but I might try a different pattern for the second one. This one is knit in the colorway 4139 Light Blue Heather. The other color is 4138 powder pink heather (yes, once again, I keep buying pink for some odd reason!).
