Especially this one. Everything about working on this mystery quilt has gone wrong. For every clue, I cut pieces wrong. Or sewed them wrong. Or had major difficulty in sewing them together. But mostly I cut them wrong. Every. Single. Clue.
When I started doing that with Clue 3, even though I read it through multiple times, I decided that someone must be trying to tell me something. And that’s when I decided that enough is enough.
I deconstructed the mystery into three baby-sized quilts (40 inches square, above, and 30 inches square below). I ended up making a few more blocks to go with them, but I arranged the pieces in what I felt was a pleasing design, and then sewed them together.

So have I learned my lesson? We shall see. I hope so, because I am tired of having to re-design things that just aren’t working out. Plus, I am really enjoying working on much more scrappy projects lately.
I plan to quilt these myself and donate them to our local pregnancy help center.
