Finished fingerless mitts

During some recent reorganization, I ran across a few project bags that I hadn’t opened in a while. In one of those was these fingerless mitts.

I think I started these just after finishing the last set of Vancouver Fog fingerless mitts. I had some Cascade 220 superwash yarn (color Ruby) leftover from a Stitches South class in 2014. When I pulled them out of the bag, I only had the thumbs left to knit (then weaving in the ends).

I had originally intended they be a gift for a friend. But I think I will use a different yarn for that pair, because these are just not as soft as I’d hoped they would be. I’ll try washing them to see if they soften up a little. They really are a nice color of red.
