I’ve been knitting Kingsley hats since I purchased the pattern earlier this month. I knit the first one for me using Berroco Vintage in the color Snow Day. Because it’s a little lighter weight than the pattern called for, I knit the larger size and the slouchy version.
I really like the pattern that is just knits and purls. You do have to pay attention to which round you’re knitting or you can get off pattern pretty easily (or at least I can), but it’s a really nice hat.
I’ve also knit a charity one in a bulkier weight (Yarn Bee Tender Touch in the Dove colorway) using the smaller size and non-slouchy (beanie) version. Because the yarn is fuzzier, the pattern is a little less distinct, but still really nice.
And I’m currently working on one using Lion Brand’s Heartland. I think this color is Bryce Canyon. The pattern is very distinct. Again, I’m knitting the smaller size, and will probably do the beanie version instead of slouchy. There is still, depending on who will be wearing it, a little slouch to the hat (at least for someone with my size head/hair).
