I already had these pieces cut and ready to piece from back in 2022. As I was walking by my project boxes, Aunt Joe’s Afghan quilt seemed to jump out at me and want me to test to see if I can still sew a project with such small pieces.
While it was a little different piecing this than the larger pieced blocks, I still managed success. My quarter inch seam seems a bit more scant on one-inch cut widths with the guide I’m using (though I haven’t really noticed that on the larger pieces??).
It’s nice to know that I may be able to go ahead and work on that project occasionally, though I don’t think I’ll want to focus on that constantly with all the black in the blocks. But every now and then, I could add a new block and eventually have another small special quilt (I think this one is about 50 by 70 inches).
Now to get back to my regularly scheduled quilt project. My block centers are about 15% complete.
You’ve still got it! I find I’m not as accurate on teensy weensy pieces. If you aren’t already, I would try using a dry iron to see if that helps.
