I saw the block stitch pattern when searching for other lapghan patterns, and thought it was really unique. There are quite a few tutorials with instructions, and I used the Hearthside Crochet Blanket pattern.
I used a dark gray Red Heart With Love yarn, color name “Pewter” or “Anthracite” which was slightly heavier/thicker than the Red Heart Super Saver yarn in the color “Burgundy.” Both of the yarns are designated 4-Medium. It’s interesting just how wide the range is in each weight, even for identical fibers (both are 100% acrylic, and are from the same brand manufacturer).
