Two identical copies of two blocks for this part. The first block is a large bow-tie block.

Pieces needed for a single block 12 (double for making 2):
- 2-2″ medium squares
- 2-3 1/2″ medium squares
- 2-3 1/2″ background squares
Snowball one corner of each of the two background squares. Arrange the units/squares like the photo below.

Sew into a four-patch. Remember to make two!

- 2-3 1/2″ background squares
- 4-2″ background squares
- 4-2″ dark (light background, or light with dark background) squares

Create two four-patches with the 2″ squares. Arrange as in the photo below. Be sure that the contrast fabric forms a diagonal line. Sew into one large four-patch. Make two of these as well.
