Okay, I’m going to attempt to get back to this quilt and finish both versions. We still have a little ways to go, and it may be slow-going.
Part 5 consists of one block, but we’re making two of it, exactly the same. I’m making two different quilts, so I’ve made two times two – two for each version.

- 4-3 1/2″background squares
- 5-2″ medium squares
- 5-2″ darker squares if using dark background (or lighter squares if using light background)
- 5-2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles of the same darker (or lighter) fabric
Piece the 2″ squares to each other

Piece the new units to the rectangles (should be the same size).

Lay out your pieces in the following orientation. Be careful to match the direction of the smallest squares in the lower right corner.

Piece together the nine-patch. I pressed toward the largest unpieced squares.

Remember to make two just alike!
