Finally getting there

Well, it’s just one of those times of life when everything happens at once. I was sidelined by a really bad sinus infection/summer cold and have just started getting back on my feet again. And I finally felt well enough yesterday to do a little sewing.

I managed to get most of the sashing pieces sewn to the blocks and sashing squares.

I’ve laid out the blocks (sans the horizontal sashing – I’ll piece those separately after I piece the block rows together), just to try to make sure that I don’t have two of similar fabrics side by side. It was a little dim yesterday as I laid them out on the floor, so if I did get some similar to each other next to each other, so be it. Trying to let go a little of my obsessive behavior that it has to be perfectly “scrappy.” There will be one more sashing strip to attach to the far left of each row – just wanted to get all of the blocks laid out before adding that final piece and then sewing them together.
