I think I’ve figured out my simpler, alternate layout for the Chilhowie quilt. I’m thinking of modifying my quilt’s name to Chilhowie Inspired, since it’s only using the interior part of the block, and obviously, the credit for that inspiration goes to Bonnie’s quilt.
I ordered some simple low-volume sashing fabric, and it came in the mail the other day. I wanted something that could go with the rest of the background fabrics, but pull everything together cohesively. I think this does the job. I got the very last bit that Fat Quarter Shop had of it, and I should have enough to make a quilt (with a couple of small borders) that is approximately 87″ x 75″.
Of course, now I have more units to make so that I can make almost twice the number of blocks that I have currently.
