For the broken star log cabin design to work, you have to make some blocks that are a single color all the way around – they aren’t half-light and half-dark. There are 32 (I think) in my broken star mockup/design – 16 using the neutrals and 16 using the blues.
So I worked on making all of my neutrals first. They go quite fast at first, but as you add each round, the seams get longer and longer, and it takes a while to get through each set.
I think I’m going to work on the blues next, so I can get all of the “solid” ones out of the way. Then I can really concentrate on piecing all of the two-color blocks.
Really lovely!
M, I count 20 neutral blocks.
Oh dear, you’re right! Thank you for catching that! Back to the sewing machine!!
