I was thinking about not participating in this year’s mystery, with all the other things I have going on.
And when I saw the original colors, which are a bit brighter, I was even more convinced that I wasn’t going to do this year’s mystery. I just wasn’t into the brighter turquoise, orange, and purples.
But then I saw a couple of photos of some other quilters’ fabric pulls, and I changed my mind. I really liked the more muted colors, and so I set to pulling some fabrics from my stash.
I had most of these fabrics, and then I picked up some more at my local fabric shop to make sure I have plenty for the quilt, which I think she says should be about 84″ square.
All of the information about the mystery can be found at Bonnie Hunter’s Chilhowie mystery quilt page. She released her colors first, and the first cutting/piecing clue will be released on the day after Thanksgiving.

Have you started this years BH mystery quilt? I loved your variation on last years BH mystery quilt. Looking to see if you have made a variation for Chilhowie, like making a star in the sashing using the border units?
I started working on the quilt, but I started experiencing some eye issues that first weekend. I hope to be well enough to get back to sewing in a couple of months. I’m anxious to make it in these fabrics!!
