If you were to go back to the post where I talked about the remaining open blooms, you won’t find the fabric in this partial or half-bloom. After looking at the fabric I originally chose for this area, I decided that it just seemed “muddy” – really too much detail in the background between the bears – for such a big hexagon. When I placed my acrylic template down on the bear, he was not as distinct as I wanted him to be. Really, I think he will work better in a smaller space (as will some of the background details). That was a bit of a disappointment because I really like this fabric and the colors in it.
So I made my little pink frogs (Frog Prince from the All Stars collection) and used a little hexagon that I made a long time ago that didn’t fit where I thought it would originally as the center of this bloom. The turquoise/aqua fabric is the Gate Keeper print from Pinkerville. And I pinned it to the wall in its place.
Froggie makes me laugh!
