Not the next-to-last bloom

Not even close. But I’ll get to that in a minute.

You wouldn’t necessarily know it, but the large hexagons in this bloom are the flowers from the Squirrel print in the Begonia colorway from 2018’s All Stars fabric collection.

In the interior are two sets of concentric triangles using Lantern in the Strawberry coloway from the 2014 Moon Shine collection (outer) and Tick Tock Stripe in the Sorbet colorway from the 2016 Chipper collection (inner).

I don’t know what I was thinking when I assumed that I had only one more bloom to make after this one. I’m actually sewing that together now, and I put it in place in the photo below, even though it isn’t finished (it’s in the bottom row, second bloom from the left).

Tula’s Bloomers on the design wall with holes where the missing blooms will go

Sooo… I have my work cut out for me. Or I have yet to cut out my work for the remaining blooms. There are 7 full and 4 half blooms left to make. I just had to laugh when I pulled down the flannel-backed tablecloth that I had pinned over my layout. Well, I can certainly incorporate some of the later collections – I think the last collection I used was 2018’s De La Luna (the only half bloom on the right at present).

I just had to laugh at myself when I saw all the holes. I probably did that intentionally at the time, wanting to make sure I could include some later prints if I really loved some of them. I just forgot completely that I did that, and I’ve had this quilt covered up since late 2018.
